Tasman Peninsula and Port Arthur

The Tasman Peninsula only 1 hr north of Hobart has several interesting sites including the Tasman Arch...

Devil's Kitchen...

And at Waterfall Bay a rare waterfall that flows directly into the ocean.

While Port Arthur looks like a well kept golf course the guide assured me that it did not look that nice when it was an active prison. All the open space was used for ramshackle housing.

But you can tell the British Heritage by the botanical gardens near the church and the officers homes.

Trees silhouetted in early dusk against Tasman Bay.

Next stop Great Ocean Road
